Please join us on Friday, January 6th at 11:30 am for the January Technical Meeting & Luncheon. Jim Gallup, PE, CSP, will present an informative discussion on “Will My 3-D Printer Explode?” Jim works for Jensen Hughes as their Office Leader Emeritus. When their research lab purchased a 3-D printer to toy with, how did they make sure that fire safety issues are considered? The machines are manufactured in Europe and use combustible dusts as well as high heat sources such as lasers and electron beams. None are UL listed. This presentation will help the Safety Professional to analyze the fire safety of these types of machines.

Jim Gallup is a fire protection engineer with Jensen Hughes in Phoenix. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a registered engineer. He was a member of this chapter from 2000-2009 and is now a member of the Four Corners Chapter. His current specialties are combustible dust analysis and litigation support. For more information about Jim, please see his CV HERE.

Registration for lunch will end on Wednesday, January 4 at noon. If you have questions about registration, please email safety.lady@hotmail.com.
